Calhoun D. Cunningham III, MD

Background:
Dr. Cunningham is a native of South Carolina. He completed his undergraduate studies at The Citadel in Charleston, SC prior to obtaining his doctor of medicine degree at the Medical University of South Carolina, where he also completed his residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. Dr. Cunningham completed fellowship training in Otology-Neurotology at the renowned House Ear Clinic. In addition to his association with the Carolina Ear & Hearing Clinic, he also serves as co-director of the Carolina Ear Research Institute.

Clinical Specialties (Adult and Pediatric Patients):

• Conductive hearing loss - tympanic membrane perforations, cholesteatomas, ossicular chain reconstruction, and laser stapes surgery.
• Sensorineural hearing loss - implantable hearing aids, cochlear implants and auditory brainstem implants.
• Balance disorders - Meniere's disease, benign positional vertigo.
• Neurotology/skull base surgery - acoustic neuromas, menigniomas, glomus tumors, trigeminal neuralgia, facial nerve dysfunction (hemifacial spasm and facial palsy).
